An Interview with a CD One Franchisee

Tell us about you.

I have experience in multiple retail & franchised businesses. I recently joined the CD One system and I really enjoy working with the customers & the organization.

What inspired you to want to run your own business?

The freedom and the challenges that come with it are really fulfilling to me.

Who are your role models?

My role model is Rafiq Karimi, CEO of CD One. He’s an inspiring leader who I have learned a lot from. He’s always there to help us in any challenges we face.

What drew you to the CD One Organization?

I have relatives who were a part of the CD One Organization, and they were really satisfied with their experience. They gave us a reference; we checked it out and loved what we saw.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a small business owner?

Managing all of the moving parts- people, equipment, etc. Something always will eventually go wrong so learning to find ways to keep everything running and solving problems as they come.

What has been the biggest success or triumph as a small business owner?

Running a good operation where customers and staff are satisfied and seeing the business do well.

What piece of advice would you give to entrepreneurs just starting out?

There will always be challenges, there will always be risk but without taking risk you cannot start a business. If you work hard, take care of customer service, take care of your team you will increase your chance of being successful. Be willing to spend time, it’s not always a 9-5 job.

What is your favorite moment is the CD One franchisee?

My proudest moment was our 1 year anniversary and to see that all the team members who stuck with us during the transition, plus some new staff who came on board during our first year.
