We use cookies, pixels, local storage objects, log files, and other mechanisms to automatically collect browsing, activity, device, and similar information within our Services. We may also engage third-parties or service providers to do the same. We use this information to, for example, analyze and understand how users access, use, and interact with our Services, to identify and resolve bugs and errors in our Services, to assess secure, protect, optimize and improve the performance of our Services, as well as for marketing and analytics purposes, and to personalize content in our Services. Cookies. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. We might use cookies to uniquely identify you, in order to help us to process your transactions and requests, to track aggregate and statistical information about overall user activity, and to display advertising both on our Site, App and on third-party sites and online services. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. If you disable cookies some features of our Site may not function.
Clear GIFs. Clear GIFs (a.k.a. web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, though, clear GIFs are embedded invisibly on web pages, not stored on your hard drive. We might use clear GIFs to track the activities of Site visitors and App users, help us manage content, and compile statistics about usage. We and our third-party service providers also might use clear GIFs in HTML e-mails to our customers, to help us track e-mail response rates, identify when our e-mails are viewed, and track whether our e-mails are forwarded.
Third-Party Analytics. We use third party tools, such as Google Analytics, which are operated by third party companies. These third-party analytics companies may use cookies, pixels, and other similar tools to collect usage data about our Services in order to provide us with reports and metrics that help us evaluate usage of our Services and improve performance and user experiences. To learn more about Google’s privacy practices, please review the Google Privacy Policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. You can also download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Third-Party Advertising. We use third parties such as ad network providers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services (“Ad Networks”) to deliver targeted advertising and to evaluate the success of our advertising campaigns. Ad Networks display advertisements based on your use of our Site and App, as well as other websites and online services. This enables us and these third parties to target advertisements by displaying ads for products and services in which you might be interested. Ad Networks may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (including clear GIFs), and other technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you. These third-party cookies and other technologies are governed by each Ad Network’s privacy policy, not this one. We may also provide these third-party advertisers with information about your usage of our Services.
- Your Privacy Choices
We make available several ways that you can manage your preferences and privacy choices related to your personal information. Some of these choices are browser and device specific, which means that you may need to set the preference for each browser and device you use to access our Services. In addition, if you delete or block cookies, you may need to reapply these preferences to each browser and/or device used to access our Services. The preferences and privacy choices we make available include:
- Account Information. You may modify any customer account information that you have submitted at a CD Store by speaking with a store representative who can update, modify, or delete your customer account information. You may modify account information that you have submitted through a Site Kiosk Store, or through the App, by logging into your account and updating the information you have submitted. You may also delete your account if you like. Please note that copies of information that you have updated, modified or deleted may continue to reside in our systems for a period of time.
- Marketing Communications. We may send periodic promotional emails or other similar communications to you, in accordance with applicable law. You may opt-out of these communications by following the instructions provided to you in the communication. If you opt-out of receiving promotional content from us, we may still send you communications about your account or any services you have requested or received from us. If you have opted in to receive text messages from us, you can opt out of receiving marketing text messages from us at any time by replying “STOP”.
- Browser Signals. Our Site currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. However, our Site may respond to other opt-out preference signals as may be required by law.
- Industry Ad Choice Programs. You can also control how participating third-party ad companies use the information that they collect about your visits to our Site and those of third parties, in order to display more relevant targeted advertising to you. If you are in the U.S., you can obtain more information and opt out of receiving targeted ads from participating third-party ad networks at aboutads.info/choices (Digital Advertising Alliance). Opting out of participating third party ad networks does not opt you out of being served advertising. You may continue to receive generic or “contextual” ads on our Site. You may also continue to receive targeted ads on other websites from companies that do not participate in the above programs.
Our Site may include social media features and widgets, such as the Facebook Like button and the “Share this” button, as well as other interactive mini-programs that run on our Site and other Services and enable certain features to work (e.g., blogs and comments). These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly and for other purposes. These features are displayed on our Site or in our App, but are hosted by third parties, and are subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.
- Testimonials
Our Site and App offer customers the opportunity to submit a testimonial regarding their experience receiving a Service (a “Testimonial”). We may exploit and distribute information from any Testimonial or post that you submit, throughout the world, in any manner, in perpetuity, at our sole discretion, without any compensation to you or any other party. In particular, please be advised that we may publish any Testimonial on our Site and in other advertising materials. Any personal information you submit in a Testimonial can be read, collected, or used by us or other visitors of our Site, and could be used for any purpose. Further, any information you submit in a Testimonial can be read, collected, or used by us and our representatives or a CD Store franchisee and their employees. We do not ask you to disclose personal information other than your name in a Testimonial or a Post, but please be advised that your name and any other personal information you choose to provide may be used by us or a CD One franchisee. Those limitations and requirements for our use and disclosure of your personal information that are set forth in the other provisions of this privacy policy do not apply to information provided by you in a Testimonial or in a post. However, if we share any information provided by you in a Testimonial or post, we will only use your first name, city and state in any future dissemination or posting of your comments or feedback if it is shared with other users.

In addition, our website responds to global privacy control—or “GPC”—signals, which means that if we detect that your browser is communicating a GPC signal, we will process that as a request to opt that particular browser and device out of “sale” and/or targeted advertising (i.e., via cookies and tracking tools) on our Site and App.
